Mom make me soft bread rolls...

"You make me soft bread rolls, mom?" ask my little son; of course treasure how could I answer no to the request of my little guy (we always see them little even if they arrive to our shoulder!). So on sunday while I was kneading bread, he went out with his father and told him "give me a budget to buy flowers to mom!"  oh yes, the crisis breathes everywhere even in the world of dwarves! When ever did you first published the consolidated financial statements of the family before buying flowers?! Though luckily he has breached the budget of his father, because he brought me a jar of purple flowers with the yellow paper at first sight not exactly cheap! only to watch them spring comes right into the bones! And spring costs!... As written by the legendary Nigella "The spring has sprung!", just two onomatopoeic words able to remind us the sound of the flower that unfolds in slow motion on National Geographic Channel!  However prepared the bread rolls, I had to take pictures of them, so I had to force their patience for a little while more; in the meanwhile my little son "tell me mom don't you cook now for the blog, instead of keeping the blog for what you cook?" Waw, he got me! Sometimes I cook to keep up with you super experienced bloggers, others I take pictures of whatever I'm cooking, you never know if it will work for a post or for the many contests that are out there (hear ye, I'm plotting my own personal contest, next on this blog!). My cell phone now is bedraggled with flour and vanilla more than the zapper. Yes I know I do the pictures with my phone, I got one with 7millions of pixels because I always like to have a tool everywhere to get pictures... in the meantime his brother, a little older, in the very middle of adolescence says: Mooooommm I'm huuuuungry!" he is always hungry!
...for air, life, space, which is never enough; this is a particular season of life, who can not remember his adolescence (and who ever want to return there, once you passed through is like eating humble pie and notwithstanding staying alive! However he still seems small and sometimes naive (ok ok here is the same old blind mother, you say, who thinks her son is different from the others!) Yes it is true, you got me twice! Maybe he already enjoyed, discovered, tested almost everything that he had to try and I'll never know, but he comes to me so sweet and clear, like a Schoene Seele, a beautiful soul, in every way...Sorry for the mammalian digression.
Pictures done, they devoured the bread rolls even in the evening with a cup of milk!

So the recipe is simple, the method explained also in other posts.

Ingredients (for about 30 pieces):
  • 1kg flour 0
  • 4,5 dl milk
  • 5g of yeast
  • 120g softened butter
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • extra vergin olive oil
Prepare a little dough the night before with:
  • 300g flour taken from the total
  • 150g water
  • 2/3 grams of yest

1. Make a little dough with these ingredients and put it in an oiled bowl covered with a cloth closed in a cupboard.
2. The next day in a separate bowl  make a fountain with the remained  sifted flour and pour  in it  sugar,  salt, 2/3 grams of yeast dissolved in warm milk and softened butter, knead the dough a few seconds and add the little dough.
3. Make a ball, put in an oiled bowl, covered with plastic wrap and prove the dough for 1 hour. After this time devide the dough into balls of  about 60 grams each.  Brush them with oil, place on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper and prove for 10 minutes.
4. Bake at 230° for about 30-40 minutes.
